Short description about the IPCA (International Physically Disabled Chess Association) for website of the 43rd World Chess Olympiad Batumi 2018
The IPCA is the International chess federation which unites the physically disabled chess players (difficulties with walking) from a lot of countries of the world.
The IPCA Federation was founded in 1992 of initiative of three disabled chess players in wheelchairs (one from Czech Republic and two from Poland). The IPCA Federation is affiliated to FIDE since 1996.
Our Federation participated in the World Chess Olympiads from 2002. The 43rd World Chess Olympiad 2018 in Batumi is already our nine Chess Olympiad. The IPCA men and women teams at the World Chess Olympiad consist of the disabled chess players from a few countries. But they represent the physically disabled chess players from all countries of the world.
The participation of the IPCA Federation at the World Chess Olympiads is a great promotion of the chess game among the physically disabled persons in all the world.
